Snuffle balls are a wonderful way to enrich your dog’s day by providing an interesting sniffing opportunity and engaging them in a rewarding foraging activity.
Stuff dry food or treats between the folds for your dog to snuffle out. You can refill to provide a sustained slow feeding activity at mealtimes.
This acts as a simple yet satisfying brain game for dogs.

Snuffle balls give your dog more fulfilling sniffing opportunities while indoors, helping to keep them mentally stimulated between walks.
Sniffing and eating is a calming process for dogs. Being lightweight and ‘squashable’, they are handy for using out-and-about. This can help your dog:
- Feel calmer in a different range of environments
- Encourage your dog to settle in more stimulating environments (cafes, pubs, public transport, visiting friends & family etc.)
- Refocus them into a calming activity as and when needed.

Increase the novelty factor by using a variety of foods - My spaniel enjoys a mix of dry food and treats along with a few cubes of cumber, carrot and some shredded iceberg lettuce!
Bonus tip:Slow-feeding? Rather than filling multiple pieces of food into each fold, place one piece of food per fold and have a few refill rounds. The snuffle ball is super quick to refill so this method extends the foraging time for your dog.

"I always pack our snuffleball from Calm Dog Games for longer train journeys, just to give her something to do.
I used it a lot when we practiced settle work earlier in her assistance dog training and it was a lifesaver. I don’t rely on it anymore to actually settle her, I just use it as a nice reward.
Snuffle balls are also great for everyday enrichment! I usually give Floyd one everyday as sniffing is calming to dogs and it helps him when he’s feeling anxious about something. ~@roamingrotties
I have already been using the plait for about a year and decided to try the snuffle ball. My dog is a very nervous/anxious English Springer Spaniel from a working line. We don’t work her but I try to give her activities that engage her mind and provide outlets for her natural instincts as well as build her confidence. The snuffle ball helps relax her through sniffing and snuffling for her food (I feed half her mealtime kibble or treats), I also load it up and play search games. The difficulty level can be set by stuffing food deeper into the ball or closer to the edge, between ‘ruffles’ or inside them. My dog can’t quite work out why the ball doesn’t bounce when she drops it on the floor, although it’s one way to get the treats out. The snuffle ball keeps her entertained for a good while. Thank you Chloe for another brilliant product. Lottie has a new favourite toy.
My boy Milo absolutely adores his snufflepuff. It the perfect outlet for his anxiety and helping him settle, especially outdoors, as it gives him something to focus on, keeping him calm and entertained for ages. It’s the perfect size and given the chance he would play with it all day. Couldn’t recommend this item more!
My boy Buddy absolutely loves his snufflepuff - it’s still going strong after loads of use.
