Personal note - why I created the deck
Personal note - why I created the deck
This isn’t just more enrichment ideas. It’s a way to actually use them.
I created the deck because I needed it myself. I thought I needed to do more (and more) with my working-bred springer spaniel to fulfil his drive.
...And I love learning, I thrive on it. So I dove into the dog world and found it fascinating.
But unless you want to make this your full-time job (like I did), it can be a bit much.
Let's face it, there’s no shortage of dog advice out there: Reels. Facebook groups. Instagram trainers. Online memberships you keep meaning to log into...
One minute you’re saving ten ideas - the next, you’re too mentally fried to try even one.
We’re not meant to process this much information (let alone opinions). So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone.
The reality is it's not about doing more. This can be counterproductive and increase your dog's arousal level (stress).
Instead, do the core components well so that your dog feels calm, secure and able to relax.
What I needed was something simple. Something I would actually use. Something I could do at home or on walks. Something that would work his mind, support his nervous system and create a deeper bond.
So I made the deck to eliminate decision fatigue.
No scrolling. No planning. No second-guessing.
Yes, you’ll get a deck full of ideas - but more importantly, you’ll stop reinventing the wheel.
Just pick a card. Follow the steps. Connect with your dog in bite-sized blocks of five minutes or less.
Fun, low-pressure and made for real life. Give your dog (and yourself) a moment of calm.
- Grow calmness, focus & your bond.
- Developed in collab with the RSPCA.
- Promoted by canine pro's & welfare charities.

“Most people struggle to find things to do with their dogs. They go to the ‘boring’ regular stuff; sit, down, paw... The cards give something different.
I can say to clients, when you’re watching TV during the evening, take a card out during the advert breaks and do an activity. It’s literally word-for-word; ‘do this exactly’.
They’re not faffing about going all over the internet trying to find things to do. They’re got their own deck of cards and it becomes an easier thing for to do.
You’ve got enough cards to repeat over the course of the year. All these activities your dog starts to do then builds a bit of confidence, more focus and helps your dog relax.
The feedback I’ve had back from clients is that they really help and it’s such a nice thing to be able to offer. They go and buy a set and it helps with their bond and calmness for their dogs. It just works for people.”

FAQ

Why enrichment?
Enrichment is what your dog actually wants to do. Enrichment activities give your dog an outlet for expressing natural behaviours.
In other words, simply ‘be more dog’!
This is crucial for their overall wellbeing.
Enrichment is a foundation for animal welfare and can help resolve a number of ‘undesirable’ behaviours which often stem from boredom and frustration.
So instead of trying to ‘fix’ chewing, digging, excess energy etc, we can do simple activities with our dog to provide safe and appropriate opportunities to fulfil these behavioural needs.
The main purpose of the deck is to be a resource to learn more about our dogs and help us give them what they need.
When a dog has plenty of enrichment in their life, they are calmer, more balanced and fulfilled and less ‘desperate’ to find their kicks elsewhere!
The benefits of brain games for dogs
Positive experiences boost your dog's emotional wellbeing.
Activities create opportunities for your dog to problem-solve & make their own decisions.

Dog Welfare
The Enrichment Deck is used by numerous dog welfare organisations to provide varied enrichment activities to dogs within their care and support owners with their new dog.
These carefully designed brain games for dogs help you discover what your dog finds engaging; encouraging you to work with them in a way they find rewarding.
Meeting a dog’s enrichment needs can help address common behavioural concerns such as lack of calmness, destructive tendencies and inappropriate greetings.
What started as a passion project with my own spaniel has now grown into a greater mission - to help owners understand their dogs better, thus helping reduce the number of dogs being surrendered for rehoming.
Every dog deserves the chance to thrive through enrichment activities that cater to their natural instincts and intelligence.
Always seek the help of a behaviourist when needed.
