Puzzle Plait - Enrichment Snuffle Toy
Puzzle Plait - Enrichment Snuffle Toy
The Puzzle Feeder Plait is our most popular enrichment toy, designed to engage your dog's brain, nose and natural behaviours, providing mental stimulation for the home.
Since the toy is lightweight and easy to carry, you can easily take it with you to help your dog feel comfortable in new environments, such as a café or holiday home.
How to use:
Featuring spacious "treat pockets" along its super-sized length, hide your dog's dry food or treats inside each opening. You can also stuff treats between the folds of the plait.
This provides a puzzle feeding activity and fulfilling brain game for dogs, keeping them entertained as they sniff out and retrieve the hidden goodies.
Enrichment benefits:
1. Sustained snuffing: As smell is a dog's most prominent sense, opportunities for sniffing are enriching and mentally stimulating. Since traditional walks can be over-arousing or anxiety-inducing for some dogs, it's important to provide time each day for sniffing that is calming and fulfilling. The Puzzle Plait is an ideal option for the home.
You can hide different treat types within the Puzzle Plait to engage your dog in novel smells, tastes, and textures. This provides varied sniffing opportunities while they work their brain to extract each piece of food.
2. Predatory Play: This enrichment activity is more aligned with a dog's natural instincts than a traditional snuffle mat, as it offers an appropriate outlet for different predatory play behaviours.
Your dog can pounce, wrestle, grab, shake, parade and drag the toy around before settling down to mimic "dissecting prey". This provides independent playtime and can be a satisfying activity for dogs that love to pull stuffing out of toys.
3. Slow feeding: While "slow feeding bowls" prolong mealtimes for dogs that otherwise gulp down food, they provide limited enrichment. For the activity to be enriching, it needs to engage the brain in problem-solving or making choices, offer an outlet for natural behaviour or be a self-soothing activity (chewing, licking, etc). The Puzzle Plait is a more well-rounded slow feeding activity because of the behavioural opportunities discussed above.
A versatile toy for your enrichment toolkit!
Size: approx. 1 metre long (3ft 3") x 8cm wide (3.1")

Play tips
Play tips
It's best to start with long treats (e.g. sprats). Poke these out of the pockets so your dog can easily extract them. You can then gradually try a few smaller treats concealed within the pockets.
Care
Care
- Gentle machine wash at 30 degrees using dog-safe detergent.
- Air dry
Safety
Safety
Ensure your dog doesn't try to chew through the fabric to get to the treats - if they find concealed treats too challenging, revert to the easy extractions with long treats.
Never leave dogs unattended with toys. Always supervise play. Not intended for chewing. Check for damage and discard if becomes damaged as fabric may present a choking hazard.

Amazing quality that lasts my dog loves sniffling for treats in this puzzle plait and I love the choice of colours would highly recommend
We have a 21 month old Poodle cross Cockapoo and she loves her Puzzle Plait. We load it up with small training treats and she spends ages getting them all out. It keeps her engaged and she doesn’t get fed up with it like other toys that she has. It has stood up to her nibbles and scratching and is very well made. Well worth the money!
I have an 8 month old Cocker Spaniel called Ruby who is always full of energy but she absolutely loves the puzzle plait and the Cinderella snuffle toy.
I started putting a few sprats in both just to get her started but she is so quick at picking things up that I basically put any of her kibble and treats in and it occupies her for quite awhile and then she is always ready for a nap so mental stimulation is the best thing ever, definitely 5 stars from me and Ruby of course.
Was looking for toys to keep my lively Cocker Spaniel busy during his TPLO surgery recovery. He has enjoyed searching for the treats in the plait and playing with it after. Good quality and has not been destroyed yet!
Our rescue dog Elly really loves this snuffle toy. She spends ages snuffling out the treats then plays with the plait when she has eaten all the treats.
